IMC Jazz

JAZZ ENSEMBLES & JAZZ COMBOS will meet on a daily basis to develop essentials of jazz performance in both large and small ensemble settings. Tuning, balance, blend, articulation and fundamental concepts in all jazz styles will be discussed, in addition to jazz improvisation.

MASTER CLASSES are held daily. In addition to classes, and at discretion of the Faculty Member involved, individual instruction may be arranged.

EVENING CONCERTS featuring performances by the jazz faculty.

JAM SESSIONS every evening provide an opportunity for campers to perform for their peers.

    Campers may take advantage of the sports and recreation facilities which include a complete waterfront of sailing, swimming, water-skiing, wakeboarding and tubing, as well as beach volleyball, tennis, basketball, tetherball and minigolf! Evening programs will include campfires, cornroast, talent show, movie night, and other traditional camp activities.

  • Important Information

    JAZZ GUITARIST / BASSISTS:

    Jazz guitar and bass amps will be provided in Big Band rehearsal and Rhythm sectional spaces.
    Please Ensure that you label all equipment you bring to camp with your full name!

    Must Bring:

    • Your instrument
    • Amplifier (practice size or something easily carryable is recommended)
    • 1 / 4” instrument (patch) cable

    Recommended:

    • Guitar strap
    • Extra set of strings
    • Extra guitar picks

    Optional:

    • Effect pedals/pedalboards

    JAZZ DRUMMERS:

    Please Ensure that all of your equipment is labeled with your full name, including drum shells, cymbals and stands, throne, protective cases/bags, to limit lost items!

    Must Bring:

    • Your drum kit
    • Sticks and brushes

    Recommended:

    • Drum head tuning key

    JAZZ PIANIST / KEYBOARDISTS:

    Keyboards, stands, and amplifiers will be provided in Big Band rehearsal, Rhythm sectional, and Masterclass spaces

    JAZZ VOCALISTS:

    It is recommended to bring your own microphone and XLR microphone cable to camp. Speakers for amplification will be provided in your rehearsal space. Please ensure that your microphone is labeled with your full name.

    If you are unable to do so, a credit card number must be provided prior to camp for a deposit of $150.00 for a microphone and cable to be provided by IMC. This deposit will be credited back to your credit card upon the return of the microphone and cable prior to departing camp.
