Brennan Connolly

Percussion

An award-winning percussionist and educator, Brennan Connolly is passionate about drumming because of its potential to transform people and communities. Brennan is on faculty at Wilfrid Laurier University as an instructor in both percussion and community music. He is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Social Justice Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (University of Toronto) and is a founding member of Duo Percussion, a chamber ensemble defined by their high-energy performances and commitment to music education.

Brennan seeks to bring out musical and relational excellence and is tireless in the pursuit of both in his teaching practice. He believes that music is more than an artistic pursuit, but a life calling that can serve as a catalyst for change. He is joyful in his approach to life, relationships, and music. He is unique in the field and has become one of the most respected, and in demand professionals in the Waterloo Region.

Brennan holds a Master of Music degree in performance from Oklahoma City University and a Bachelor of Music degree in performance from the University of Western Ontario. An active freelance musician, Brennan performs regularly with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony and the Jeans ā€˜nā€™ Classics Rock Symphony. He is an active theatre musician having performed in pit orchestras, fanfares and onstage at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and with Drayton Entertainment.
